- Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA
- Received his bachelors in science: zoology as well as his DVM at Auburn University
- Enjoys backpacking and camping with his wife (also a veterinarian) and their dog, Moose.
- Avid snowboarder and loves playing all sports
- Teaches scuba diving in his free time
